We have installed furnitures and authentic tatami mats this week!
The furnitures included cedar dining table set and chairs.
Cedar furnitures are used widey in Japan as they are grown various places around Japan and the meterial is well made for furniture uses.
The features of cedar are they have visible grain on the surface, light and fine grained compared to cypress, and is not glossy.
For the tatami mats, we installed total of 16 mats into 2 different houses.
New tatami's paticular smell and the fresh green look certainly made those rooms look brighter newer.
Sannaka-WEST carrys standard authentic tatami mats which we installed this week as well as contemporary floor tatami mats which is much lighter and thinner, has variety of color options, and are easy to clean and durable since they are made of plastic rather than natural plants.
Standard tatami is perfect for people who already has tatami mats at home and wants to replace those, like the scent of them, or like the traditional Japanese tatami look.
Contemporary tatamis are prefered by people who have pets or kids in order to clean them up easily, or want light mats to be able to put away easily when they do not need them.
For both kinds of tatmi, we are available to work on measurement to installments.
Some people might be thinking they are interested in tatami but do not know how to decide size, amount of tatami to order, what kinds of tatami we have to choose from, or too much trouble doing measurement all by themselves.

今週は家具と畳のデリバリー、インストール作業を行いました。
家具は杉のダイニングテーブルとチェアー、畳はイグサ畳を2件インストールさせて頂きました。
杉は日本各地で生産されており、家具にはよく使われる木です。
特徴は、軽い、木目がはっきりしている、柔らかい、そしてツヤがないなどで、家具として使用するには大変使いやすい素材です。
