日本では、本日10月11日は体育の日です。

Health and Sports Day also known as Health-Sports Day or Sports Day, is a national holiday in Japan held annually on the second Monday in October.
体育の日は日本の国民の祝日で、毎年10月の第二月曜日に設定されています。

It commemorates the opening of the 1964 Summer Olympics being held in Tokyo, and exists to promote sports and an active lifestyle.
1964年の夏のオリンピックが東京で行われたことの記念と、スポーツに親しみ健康な生活を送ることを主とされています。

Some sports facilities waive the charge on Health and Sports Day.
体育の日には使用料を無料にするスポーツ施設などもあるそうですよ。
