He was a prominent Japanese American artist and landscape architect whose artistic career spanned six decades, from the 1920s onward.
彼は有名なアーティストであり造園家でした。1920年代から、60年にわたり活動してきました。

There are some books about his life.
彼の自伝も何冊かあります。

In our showroom, we have a lamp that Isamu Noguchi designed.
当店にはイサム・ノグチデザインのランプがあります。

Girls Day/雛祭り

March 3rd is Girls Day!
3月3日は雛祭りですね！

Did you display Hina-Dolls already?
雛人形は飾りましたか？

Do you know the reason why Japanese display Hina-Dolls on Girls Day?

雛祭りに雛人形を飾る理由をご存知でしょうか？

The reason why is the doll will take misfortunes in place of the child.
雛人形がお子様の身代わりになって災厄をもらってくれるからだそうです。

So, if you have more than 2 daughters, each daughter should have their own dolls.
なので、娘さんが2人以上いらっしゃる場合ですとそれぞれの娘さんに一つずつ雛人形が必要となってきます。


I also have my own Hina-Dolls which my grandmother made for me.
私も、祖母が私の為に作ってくれた雛人形を持っています。

It is said that if you still display Hina-dolls after March 3rd, the daughter can't get married but I used to display Hina-Dolls after March 3rd because I really really like the dolls!
よく、3月3日を過ぎても雛人形を飾っていると結婚できないと言われますが、私は雛人形が大好きだったので3月3日を過ぎても飾っていました。

It means...I can't get married?
ということは、私は結婚できないのでしょうか･･･？

LUCKY CAT/招き猫

Hello!

I saw a cat this morning.

So I decided to write about cat!

こんにちは。

今朝猫を見ましたので、本日は猫について書こうと思います！

Do you know Lucky Cat?
(In Japanese, we call it "Maneki Neko")
Maneki means Bring, Invite etc...
Neko means Cat.

I think most of people know it.

招き猫をご存知ですか？

（日本人の方でしたら皆様ご存知だと思いますが）

Lucky Cat can be found with either the right or left paw raised.
招き猫は、右手か左手を上げております。



The most common belief is that the right paw raised brings wealth and good luck.
右手を上げている猫は、お金と幸運を招くとされています。




The left paw raised brings in customers.
左手を上げている猫はお客様を招くとされています。


The exact origins of Maneki Neko are uncertain.
招き猫の由来には諸説あり、どれが本当か定かではないそうです。


In Tonokane City, Aichi Prefecture, there is a huge Lucky Cat!
愛知県の常滑市には巨大な招き猫がおります。



It was named "Tokonyan".
とこにゃんという愛称で親しまれております。

W20.67ft, H12.47ft!
幅6.3メートル、高さ3.8メートルです！




We have a Lucky Cat in our showroom!

とても暑い日で、しかも材料を持って行く事が大変でした。

It was a hot day and hard is to bring those materials.



材料を床に置き部品をつけいくことは楽しかったです。

Today, I would like to tell you about one of the most popular designs, Red Mt. Fuji.

本日は、最も有名な赤富士についてご説明させていただきます。

Mt. Fuji was colored to red because of sunrise.

富士山が朝日により赤く染まったものが赤富士です。

It means "GOOD LUCK" because it is said that you can't see Red Mt. Fuji often. Once a year or you can't see.

一年に一度見れるか見れないかというほど貴重なものなので、幸運を象徴する絵とされています。

And cranes means "LONGEVITY"

鶴は長寿を意味します。

You can see many hanging scrolls in our showroom!

Gentry Pacific Design Center has two old style huge size elevator.


最初に見たときに驚きましたというのも大きさと、どう使用していいのか分かりませんでした。

When I saw it I was a big surprise　because I don't know how to use and huge size.



それらのエレベーターは大きいアイテムを移動するときに使います。

Those elevators for only when we need to move a big items.

Please go streight the road and you'll see Gentry Pacific Design Center on your left side.
真っ直ぐ進んでいただきますと、ジェントリー・パシフィック・デザインセンターの建物が見えて参ります。




You can come in to the building from the back door.
裏口から建物へ入っていただけます。




And you'll find our showroom on your left side.
ショールームが左手に見えます。
