Today I would like to introduce you Aizome!
今日は藍染についてご紹介いたします。

Aizome is the traditional colouring style in Japan.
藍染は伝統的な染めの技術です。

It was brought in first from India to China and China to Japan.
この技術は、インドから中国へ、そして中国から日本へ伝わってきました。

It became popular during Edo period in Japan.
日本の江戸時代に藍染はとても人気が出たそうです！

Especially Tokushima(which is located in Shikoku..same as our company's island)is known as Aizome skills!
特に徳島（我々の会社がある四国の県）は藍染で有名になりました。

In Sannaka West, we have several Aizome items..
サンナカではいくつかの藍染を販売しております。

I personally like this Aizome blue. It is very nice and deep blue colour!
私は個人的に藍染の深い青色が気に入っています。

This Noren remind me of my grand mother. In her house, there was Noren between kitchen and dining room. It is so easy to devide the room and not showing mess in the kitchen! haha
こののれんを見るたびに祖母の家を思い出します。祖母の家のキッチンとダイニングの通路ドアにのれんがありました。　ダイニングからキッチンの汚れを見せることなく、出入りできるのでとても便利ですね！


Or you can hang as it is to the wall. Either way you can enjoy your Aizome Noren.
または、のれんのみを壁に掛けるお客様もいらっしゃいます。どちらにしても、藍染の美しさをお楽しみいただけます。

we have award winning craft man's laquer painting in our store.
実は、お店に賞を受賞した漆塗りの工芸士による作品があるんです！



His name is Mr. Endo Masaru, he was chosen by the Ministry of Economy to acknowledge the dedication of Japanese traditional craft making.
遠藤勝さんが経済産業省によって功績を讃えられ、たくさんの伝統工芸士の中から選ばれ大臣表彰を受賞されました。

Mr. Endo and other craft man, Just 2 of them are chosen to this award in Kagawa Pre.
遠藤さんともう一人の方だけが香川県のなかで選ばれ、表彰されました。

Did you know that our main office is located in Kagawa?
我々の本社は香川にあるとご存知でしたか？

We are very proud to present his work on be half.
遠藤さんの代理として彼の作品を販売している事にとても誇りを持っています！

Ohanami! Cherry brossom picnic! お花見です！

This is almost end of MARCH!!
もう３月もおわりですね！

I cannot beleive it! Time flies soo fast!
信じられません！時間は早く過ぎていきますね。。

Anyway, speaking of going to April, excited season Spring is comming!!
ところで、四月と言えば、春です。そうです、素晴らしい春がやってくるんです！

Well, not really you can feel the season in Hawaii, but In japan we have so many events comming up.
でも、ハワイではあまり、季節を感じる事は出来ませんが、日本で春といえばたくさんの行事が行われます。



Especially, HANAMI..
特に、お花見です！






Which is picnick under the cherry brossom tree!!
説明するとすれば、さくらの木下でピクニックをするという感じです。


you can have lunch or you can enjoy Yozakura which is lit up sakura in the night.
お昼ごはんをたべたり、夜には夜桜と言って、ライトや月明かりに照らされた美しい桜を見ることも出来ます。

and of course you can drink alcohol if you are an adult!!
そして、大人の方はお酒も呑めます！

sounds really fun right?
とっても楽しそうでしょう？

There is some Cherry brossoms in Hawaii I think so let's go and check out!
ハワイにも桜の木はあると思いますので、是非見に行ってください！


if you are going to Ohanami, I recomend you to bring one of our igusa mat(Goza)

American and Japanese event! 京都の3大祭り

Yesterday is St.Patrick's day!
昨日は聖パトリックの日でしたね！



Did you cereblate it?
お祝いしましたか？

I was surprized to see people wearing green!
私は人々が緑の服を着ていることにとっても驚きました！

Also I was so shocked to found out that if you don't wear green, someone can pinch you!
そして、もっと驚きだったのは、もし緑の服を着ていなかったら誰かにつねられてもしょうがないという事です！


I was so lucky that I didn't meet anyone pinch me.. haha
私は昨日緑の服を着ていませんでしたが、つねられなくてとってもラッキーでした!笑



anyway, we don't really have these kind of day in Japan..
ところで、日本にはそのような日があまりありません。

event like this will be Matsuri..
しいて言えば、祭りでしょうか？

So today I am going to introduce you 3 big matsuri in Kyoto.
今日は京都の3大祭りについてお話いたします。

Gion Matsuri
祇園祭り

Aoi Matsuri
葵祭り

Jidai Matsuri
時代祭り

my favorite is Aoi Matsuri because it is same as my birthday!!
特に私のお気に入りは葵祭です。なぜならば、私の誕生日と同じ日だからです！



in the parade, people wear traditional Japanese Kimono and as you can see from the picture, it is really elegant. In this matsuri, you just watch from the side street but this is defenately worth watching!
このパレードでは、皆が昔の衣装を着て登場します。まるで時代劇を見ているみたいですね。とっても優雅でしょ？このパレードは歩道から見ることができます。おすすめですよ！

It is very easy to wear and you can get attention from people!

Our customer asked us about it because I was wearing it everyday.

It is very comfortable and you can wear nomal clothes underneath the Kimono.

this is Kanzashi. it is very beautiful, isn't it?
そうです。かんざしです。とっても綺麗ですよね。


The reason why I bring up this is because few days before one family came to our store and asked us about Kanzashi.Thier daughter is going to get married soon.
so that's why they want to wear Kanzashi at the wedding.

かんざしを本日の話題にしようと思った理由は、先日ご家族でご来店いただいたお客様のお嬢様がご結婚なさるそうで、かんざしがないかと私共にお尋ねになったからです。



How wonderful it is!

A Beautiful view from Long Beach ロスのロングビーチ

We paticipated event at Long Beach LA.

私たちはロスのロングビーチで行われたイベントに参加しました。


It was a very cold days at there even though we saw snow at there one night.

とても寒い日が続き、雪が降った一晩もありました。


We broght all our stuff from Honolulu and Japan.

私たちはすべての物をホノルルまたは日本から持ってきました。

We had a great time at there.

とても楽しく過ごせました。

Today we had a new customer whose intrested in Ikebana but she doesn't know how to start so we had a great tme talk about Ikebana with this new customer.
今日、来店されたお客様は、いけばなに大変に興味は有りますが、どのように始めて良いのかわからなかったのです。いけばなについて楽しく話しをさせていただきました。


She chose one of SHIGARAKI vase for her start it.
彼女は信楽焼の花瓶を選んでいただきました。

We hope she enjoy SHIGARAKI vase and Ikebana style for a long time.

Kiri(Paulownia) Tansu/桐箪笥

Today I will introduce you KIRI(Paulownia) Tansu.
今日は桐箪笥についてお話します。

In Japan, Paulownia is known as high grade tree and it is really good for keepin clothing.
日本では、桐と言えば高品質で衣類を保管するのに最適な木ということで知られています。

Untill today, Kiri tansu is a typical japanese wedding gift to take it to the new house.
今日まで、桐箪笥は日本の一般的な結婚祝いとして、新しい家に持って行く習慣があります。

but why Kiri?(Paulownia?)
でもなぜ桐なんでしょうか？

It is because, Kiri has really good characteristic.
その答えは、桐の特徴にあります。

It shut down the humidity.
湿気を通さない

water permeability is low.
透水性が低い

Water absorbancy is low.
吸水率が低い

thermal conductivity is low
熱伝導性が低い

therefore it is perfect for keeping your clothe and also money!!
よって、衣類やお金など大切なものを保管するのに最適なんです！

But it is weak for the theft so please be careful:)haha
でも泥棒には弱いので気をつけて下さいね。笑
