みなさん、木製のお風呂をご存知ですか？

Japanese bathtub is resistant to moisture, durable, suitable for use around the water timber.

木の香りが楽しめて、美しい木肌をもつ、青森ヒバ、国産桧、米ヒバなどがあります。
It can enjoy the smell of the tree, it has a beautiful grain, and there are Aomori [hiba], a domestic Japanese cypress, and a yellow cedar, etc.

青森ヒバ、木曽桧、秋田杉は日本三大美林とされています。
Hiba, Kiso cypress, cedar Rin Sato Akita is Japan's three most beautiful trees.

ヒノキと同じ種の木です。また
Those are Japanese cypress family.

私の小さい頃,我が家のお風呂は木で作られたお風呂でした。
My childhood, my home bath tub was made of wood.

湿度の高い日本でもカビも発生せず、いつも木の良い香りがしました。
Even high humidity weather in Japan, mold does not occur, the bathtub was clean and always smell of wood.

私はこのお風呂を濡れたタオルできれいに拭くことが好きです。
Often I wipe it with wet towel.

なぜなら私はこのお風呂を拭いた後に独特な木の香りを楽しむことができるからです。
Because I can enjoy the distinctive aroma of wood after I wiped this bath tub.

ヒバは、雑菌やカビ、ダニの繁殖を抑えるヒノキチオールが多く含まれています。
Hiba is included in hinokitiol which reduce bacteria,mold and mite.


ヒバは、まさに健康で安全な天然木浴槽といえます。独特の香りと、やや黄色がかった白木ですが、浴槽としては、黒ズミが付きにくいと好評です。

Severe Weather お天気が悪いですね

ALOHA!

Weather is bad these days in Oahu from the evening to the night.
この頃、オアフ島では夕方から夜にかけてお天気が悪いですね。
And it is very hot in the daytime!
そして日中はとても暑い！

What’s happen?何が起こったのでしょうか？

And I watched such news last night.
こんなニュースを昨夜、見ました。

Honolulu County was under a flash flood warning until 9 p.m. on Monday On May 2, after a severe weather system formed on Oahu's south shore.
５月２日月曜日、ホノルル南部は午後9時までフラッシュ洪水警報の下にありました。

The system brought lightning, thunderstorms and twin waterspouts off Ala Moana.
A large portion of Oahu was without power as of about 5:30 p.m.
稲妻、雷雨と双子の竜巻がアラモアナの外れで起きました。
オアフ島の大きなエリアで５時３０分に停電が起こりました。

Twin waterspouts？双子の竜巻？
Sounds strange in Japanese!
日本語にするとなんだか変です。

The outage is said to be weather-related, but it is uncertain whether the lightning storm is the cause, Hawaiian Electric Co. officials said.
停電は天気によるものだろうと思われますが、稲妻嵐が原因であるかどうかは不確かであると、ハワイの電気会社当局は言われました。

Students at the University of Hawaii Manoa campus said they were in class when they were plunged into darkness.
ハワイ大学マノアキャンパスの授業中にも停電は起こりました。

Full service was restored to most customers by 8 p.m. Monday.
全ての地区で午後８時には再び電力が戻ったそうです。

I left Design center close to 6pm but it was not raining.
Got on the bus to the airport, I saw the weather was getting worth.
Aiea, we did not have a power outage though, my cat and I were frightened by the lightning storm at that night.

私はデザインセンターを６時近くに出ましたが、そのころは雨は降っていませんでした。
エアポート行きのバスに乗り、天気がだんだんと悪くなっていきました。
私の住んでいるアイエアは停電にもなりませんでしたが、猫と私は稲妻の光にその夜は怯えました。

ピロシキ-Pirozhok

ALOHA!

今日は我が社のオーナー手づくりのピロシキが届きました。
Today we received pirozhok from the owner of Sannaka-West which was baked today.


とても美味しそうです。(オーナーはいろいろな美味しいパンを作ります。)
It looks very delicious.(She bakes various delicious breads!)


みなさんはピロシキを知っていますか？
Do you know the pirozhok?

東欧料理の惣菜パンである。ウクライナ、ベラルーシ、ロシアなどで好まれている。
It is the side dish bread of the Eastern Europe dish and very popular in Ukraine, Belarus, Russia.


具にはお好みのジャムなどが入ってもよい（ピロシキはロシアでは日本の‘おにぎり’のような存在）。
You may use favorite jam instead of meat/veges (the pirozhok in Russia existence such as Japanese 'rice ball'-onigiri).








このピロシキ、冷めてもおいしいので、持ち寄りにもおすすめです。
そして素敵なお皿とも品良く似合います。
This is delicious even if it cools down　and this looks good with our wonderful dish.

本日は囲炉裏についてお話いたします。

What is irori?
囲炉裏とはなんでしょうか？

Irori is the fire cooking place in Japan.
囲炉裏は主に暖炉や調理の目的に使われます。

In the traditional Japanese house, there is Irori to cook their meal.
日本の伝統家屋では、囲炉裏で料理をします。

to hang the pot, we use Jizaikagi wich is pot hook.
そして、ポットを吊るすために、自在カギを使います。自在カギはこちらです。



We have this Jizaikagi in our store!
お店にも自在鍵は在庫がございます！


And today, one lady asked me why there is a fish ?
本日ご来店のお客様からご質問がございました。なんで魚がいるんですか？

And it is because, to not to have fire accident in the house.
その答えは、家に火事が起こらないようにする為です。

there is fire going in the irori, we need some water things to balance the place. therefore fish is the simbol of the water so it is equally balanced!
囲炉裏ではいつも火をおこしているので、この場合魚が水のシンボルなので、その場のバランスをとっているのです。

How interesting is this!
なんて興味深いのでしょうか！

I bought an Arita porcelain coffee cup lately.
Sannaka-West社より先日、有田焼のコーヒーカップを購入しました。

I fell in love this small cup when I started this job.
入社してすぐに一目ぼれしました！

This small cup has a beautiful design-Blue&White,very light and comfotable to use.
この小さなコーヒーカップ、青と白-デザインも上品で、軽くて、使い心地がとても良いし、飲みやすいカップです。





Arita(Imari) porcelain is one of Japanese traditional crafts, which is mainly made in Arita-town,Saga-kyushu.
有田焼（伊万里焼） は九州・佐賀県有田町を中心に焼かれる磁器で、日本が誇る伝統工芸品です。


The brilliant colors and delicate designs soon made Japan's name synonymous with porcelain. Traditional designs from this period are still popular today.
きらびやかな色彩とデリケートなデザインで、日本の名前は、すぐに磁器のひとつとなりました。 この期間からの伝統的なデザインは今日、まだ人気があります。
