One of my friends told me about a state fish.
友人が州の魚について教えてくれました。

Hawaii's State Fish is Humuhumunukunukuapua'a (Hawaiian Trigger Fish).
ハワイ州の魚はフムフムヌクヌクアプアア（モンガラカワハギ）です。



Humuhumunukunukuapua'a means "fish that sounds like a pig" in Hawaiian
The reason why is when brought it out from the water, it makes grunting noises.
フムフムヌクヌクアプアアはハワイ語で、「豚のような鳴き声の魚」という意味だそうです。
魚を水から出すと豚のようにブーブー鳴くそうです。


Hmm, I've learned something new ;)
また１つ賢くなりました＾＾♪


But why is the name so long?
それにしても、なんでこんなに長い名前なんでしょうか...


Then now I'm wondering, what is the most longest Hawaiian word?
一番長いハワイ語が何か気になって来ました･･･

以前当店にてダイニングセットとベンチを購入したお客様がご来店くださり、全てが完璧だったとお褒めの言葉をいただきました！His table and bench were special order from Japan.
He said the size, color and shape were really what he imaged!
その方のテーブルとベンチは日本からのスペシャルオーダーでした。
サイズ、色、形全てが希望どうりだったとおっしゃっておりました！

August is alomost over. new year comes about 4 months later
８月ももう終わりですね～　あと４ヶ月もすれば今年も終わってしまいますね。

what early the time passes!....
時が経つのはなんて早いんでしょうか。。。

Do you know that there is the shop of the yarn in the second floor of Gentry　building?
みなさんはジェントリーの2階に毛糸屋さんがあるのをご存知ですか？

The name of the shop says u'i Mau Mau .
お店の名前はu'i Mau Mau といいます

A lot of lei made of woolen yarn is displayed on the wall.
壁にはたくさんの毛糸で出来たレイが飾られています

There are many different color lei and so beautiful.
いろいろな色があってとてもきれいなんです。

You can take a lesson in the shop.
レッスンも受けられるそうですよ。

Yesterday, my colleague found a gecko...
昨日、同僚がヤモリを見つけました。。。

I was shouting and kept the distance from the gecko...
私は叫んで距離を置いていました・・・

Then, she caught the gecko by HER HANDS!!!!!!!
そして彼女は自分の手でヤモリを捕まえたんです！！！！！



Wooow.....For me, catching insects/reptile are impossible....
すごい。。。虫や爬虫類を捕まえるのは、私には不可能です。。。

How's your weekends?
週末はいかがお過ごしですか？

Yesterday, it took 3hours to get home by bus=(
昨日、バスで家に帰るまでに3時間かかりました;_;

And still don't know what was happening.
未だに何が起こっていたのかわからずです。


While I was waiting for a bus, I was thinking that I should have brought a book...
バスを待っている間、本を持ってくればよかったなぁと思っておりました。


Speaking of books, do you know that we have a small library in our store?
本と言えば、当店に小さな図書館があるのはご存知でしたか？


I don't know I can call it as "Library" but this is it.
図書館と呼べるものかはわかりませんが、こちらがそれです。






A library which has only 5 books!
5冊しかない図書館です！

Those are about Shoji Doors, Tansu and the way to display Japanese Furnitures in Western house.
これらの本は、障子や箪笥、そして和家具をどのようにして洋風の家に取り入れるかなどが書いてあります。
